Toddler run over, killed by SUV in Fla. high school parking lot
Sat Apr 28, 2012
My son is only four months old but I already have a "leash" ready for when he gets to walking age. Say what you will, but stories like this terrify me.
Susan Powell's slain sons were 'beginning to verbalize,' lawyer says
Sun Feb 5, 2012
I see a lot of people on here blasting the social worker, but she was just doing her job. I know the CPS here in Texas is far overworked and underpaid. I work only part-time and make more than they make at CPS and you are often considered "senior" if you've worked there for six months.
Suit lets young folks feel like 75
Thu Jan 5, 2012
I am not even 30 and I work with older people (over 50), some of whom are probably in better shape than me. I would be interested in trying the suit, though, although everyone's aging experience may vary. :)
Report: Air Force dumped remains of 274 troops in landfill

I also thank you for your service. My father was also a combat Vietnam veteran and your post sounded exactly like something he would have said were he alive today. I suppose little has changed after all of these years.
We are the median: Living on $50,000 a year

I make less than half of that. I work part-time and have a master's degree. I still manage but that has been all I can find.
Holiday dreads: Crowds, relatives and fake smiles
Wed Nov 30, 2011
The most dreaded thing is lines/crowds? With internet shopping, I've found that entirely avoidable. Now my UPS man probably dreads Christmas a bit more than I do. ;)
Kotex tampons recalled over bacterial contamination
Mon Nov 14, 2011
Exactly. Pads don't come with a Toxic Shock Syndrome warning, either. Tampons, for me, are only for use when swimming during that time of the month, and that's rare.
To get your kids ahead in life, get a college degree
Fri Nov 18, 2011
Crimson Wife: I was adopted. I have two bachelor's degrees and a master's. No one in either my biological or adoptive families has even an associate's. Maybe I'm just an anomaly?
11-year-old turns in parents for marijuana use
Wed Nov 16, 2011
I'll probably get flamed for this but I applaud him. I grew up with alcoholic parents who put me in danger on a regular basis and to this day I wish I would have called someone and asked for help.
What does rising inequality suggest about the American dream?
Wed Nov 16, 2011
I've gotten a postgrad education and work hard and it's still a struggle. It's not as black and white as many tend to think.
